About The 164

In 2006, I was a college student taking the 164 bus most days with music in my headphones, slowly discovering the artists and shows that would shape my relationship with music for years to come.

Around that time, my younger sister and I spent a lot of our free time going to concerts together – small venues, local shows, and whatever we could find. We talked often about creating a space to share the music and events we were discovering, and even started a MySpace page for it, but the idea never fully came together at the time.

My sister passed away in 2022. She was funny, creative, and had an incredible instinct for music. She introduced me to so many bands and artists I probably wouldn’t have found on my own. She had a natural warmth to her and a sense of humor that made people want to be around her. She made things feel fun without even trying.

The 164 is named after those bus rides, but it also represents that period of life – discovering music, going to shows, and sharing those experiences together.

This project is dedicated to her.

The 164 is a space for concerts, release parties, ticket alerts, and live music worth experiencing. A long-held idea, finally brought to life.
