Punk Culture Comes to the Skirball

Punk is getting its own space at the Skirball Cultural Center.

Outsiders, Outcasts, Rebels + Weirdos: Punk Culture 1976–86 explores the music, fashion, flyers, photography and DIY culture that shaped punk across Los Angeles, New York, London and beyond. The exhibition includes more than 500 artifacts from the era, along with work tied to artists, bands and creatives who helped define underground culture during punk’s most formative years.

The show also highlights the role Jewish artists and musicians played in punk history, while digging into the scene’s roots in rebellion, identity and community.

For anyone into punk, hardcore, DIY culture or music history, this one is worth seeing.

Now showing at the Skirball Cultural Center through September 6, 2026.
