Japanese Film + Animation Soundtracks Get a Garden Listening Party in Little Tokyo

A different kind of night for soundtrack lovers is happening in Los Angeles.

The Japanese American Cultural & Community Center is hosting Japanese Film & Animation Soundtracks: A Listening Party, an outdoor session built around iconic scores from Japanese cinema and animation, played in a private Japanese garden setting in Little Tokyo.

The night will feature curated listening sets and DJ programming centered on soundtracks from films and anime, including work tied to Studio Ghibli favorites like My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and more. Expect a focused listening experience shaped by DJs and selectors connected to the Japanese music and vinyl scene in LA.

It is part music event, part shared deep-listening session, with drinks available on site and a 21+ entry policy.

Taking place at the James Irvine Japanese Garden in downtown LA, this one leans more toward atmosphere and immersion than a typical party.
